President of the Republic Assigned the Day the Prime Minister to Form New Government

Delivered by His Excellency President Jalal Talabani at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, on Wednesday, the credentials of ambassadors of the five countries are all from Italy, Armenia, Romania and the State of the Vatican and Japan. In a ceremony attended by Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari and President of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic Naseer al-Ani, President Jalal Talabani received the credentials of the new Italian Ambassador to Iraq, Gerardo Garanti.

And by the Italian Ambassador was pleased to his appointment as ambassador to Iraq hoping to play a role in the promotion and consolidation of relations between the two countries during the period of his functions, as presented in his name and congratulations on behalf of his government to President Talabani on his re-election as President of the Republic for a second term.

For his part, thanked President Talabani, the Italian Ambassador expressed his congratulations to His Excellency the full readiness to support him in his efforts to strengthen the bonds of friendship, cooperation and strengthening bilateral political, economic and cultural relations between Iraq and Italy.

In another meeting with President Talabani received the credentials of the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia new ambassador to Iraq Murat Moradian. At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Moradian congratulations to President of the Republic and the people of Armenia to President Talabani on the occasion of being awarded the confidence of the Iraqi people and his presidency. Armenian ambassador and pledged to work diligently in Iraq in order to deepen the bilateral relations between Iraq and Armenia and in all areas, offering a formal invitation to President Talabani, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Armenia to visit his country.

For his part, thanked the President of the Republic Ambassador Moradian on his congratulations blaming him the greetings of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Armenia for his kind invitation, and expressed full support to the new ambassador, noting that “the Iraqi harbor of love and affection of the Armenian people and that Iraq was keen on promoting relations with Armenia in all areas.”

Also received the President of the Republic of the credentials of the new Ambassador of the Republic of Romania Iacob Prada. At the meeting, the Ambassador congratulated Romanian President Prada Bacsescu to President Talabani on his re-election as President of the Republic for a second term, directed to the President the official invitation on behalf of the Romanian President to visit his country.

In turn, thanked President Talabani to congratulate the Romanian Ambassador and advocacy, pointing out that the desire of Iraq’s large in developing and strengthening relations with the Republic of Romania friendly in all fields, stressing its willingness to support the efforts of Ambassador Iacob Prada in the documentation of relevant links and cooperation between Iraq and Romania.

The Romanian Ambassador expand his country’s intention of diplomatic relations with Iraq by opening consulates in Erbil in Kurdistan and Basra in southern Iraq.

And President Talabani also received the credentials of the Ambassador of the Holy See Pontifical new State of the Vatican to Iraq Giorgio Lingua. the meeting, the Vatican ambassador congratulated his personal congratulations to President Talabani on his election to a second term, expressed appreciation for the Vatican to higher position and the position of His Excellency the Prime Minister to the Supervisor of Iraqi Christians, especially during the tragedy they have suffered in the Church of Our Lady of Deliverance.

For his part, thanked President Talabani, the papal ambassador to the Holy See on his congratulations, and assured him that Christians are the sons of Iraq and principals have a major role in building the civilization they are important and influential part of the components of the Iraqi spectrum.

Also received by His Excellency President Jalal Talabani, the credentials of the new Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Susumu Hasegawa, who expressed his country’s keenness to strengthen relations with Iraq in all fields.

For his part, President Talabani welcomed the new Japanese Ambassador and wished him success in his work and expressed his full readiness to support efforts that will strengthen relations between Iraq and Japan to serve the interests of two friendly countries.

President of the Republic receives the congratulations of the Secretary-General of the United Nations

On the other hand, met with His Excellency President Jalal Talabani at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, on Wednesday, Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in Iraq (Ad Melkert). At the meeting, congratulated Mr. Melkert, on behalf of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, President Jalal Talabani on his re-election as President of the Republic and wished him success in the performance of its functions.

The President thanked Mr. Ad Melkert, reviewing the steps to be taken for the completion of the formation of the new government, pointing out that His Excellency will be on Thursday, in an official ceremony, commissioned by Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to form a new ministry.

For his part, Representative of the Secretary-General’s United Nations readiness to cooperate with the new Iraqi government and that will be formed soon, wishing success, and expressed the hope that there is progress and stability of Iraq and the Iraqi people enjoy security and prosperity.
